Certifier, Accredible and Credly alternatives: how to choose a certificate platform

If you issue certificates for courses, bootcamps or events, you've probably looked at Certifier, Accredible and Credly. They're established platforms, priced and packaged for different kinds of organizations. The right choice depends more on how you issue than on any feature list.

This article explains how each platform packages its offer, based on its own public pages as checked on November 5, 2026, and where Certinator fits. We've tried to be fair: sometimes another platform is the better choice, and we say so.

Start with how you issue, not with features

Before comparing platforms, answer four questions:

1. How many certificates do you issue a month, and how spiky is it? A bootcamp might issue 40 at once every eight weeks. An association might issue steadily all year.
2. Who needs to work on certificates? A solo trainer and an L&D team need different things.
3. What do recipients need to be able to do? Download a PDF? Have it checked by an employer?
4. How do you want to pay? Monthly with no commitment, or an annual contract with more included?

Your answers will narrow the list quickly.

How the platforms price and package

Prices change, so check each vendor's page before you decide. The details below are what each vendor's own page showed when we checked.

Certifier

Certifier's pricing page lists a free Starter plan and paid plans with annual issuing limits, billed monthly or yearly (yearly saves 15%). Its comparison table shows paid plans from $49 a month billed annually. Other parts of the page show different figures for some tiers, so confirm the current price there. All plans include bulk creation from CSV or Excel, email delivery, LinkedIn sharing and verification pages. Higher tiers add QR codes for verification, LMS integrations, team collaboration, a custom credential domain and SSO. Certifier also lists an API, webhooks and an MCP server, and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Accredible

Accredible prices by unique recipients per year rather than per credential. Its Launch plan starts at $45 a month on a 12-month term, billed monthly, and includes 50 recipients. Its Connect and Growth plans are custom-priced and add pathways, digital wallet cards, extra branding and a dedicated customer success manager. Accredible's page encourages you to schedule a demo.

Credly

Credly by Pearson doesn't publish pricing. Its FAQ asks you to schedule a demo to agree a plan, and issuers go through a legal contracting process before they can issue badges.

Certinator

Certinator is self-serve, with published prices in USD and no sales call. Pay yearly and get 2 months free.

• Spark ($0): 100 certificates a month, 3 saved templates and CSV batches of up to 20 people. Download as PDF or PNG. There's no email delivery or verification. No credit card required.
• Studio ($12/month or $120/year): email delivery (500 a month), verify pages with QR codes, expiry and revocation, plus premium templates.
• Academy ($29/month or $290/year): 3,000 emails a month, the Certinator API and MCP with 1,000 credits, choosing which fields are public, and bulk resend.
• Institute ($79/month or $790/year): 10,000 emails a month, 5,000 API credits, and priority email support with a 30-min onboarding call.

• You want an enterprise badging program under contract. That's how Credly works.

When Certinator fits

• You're a trainer, bootcamp, event organizer or association office and want to start today.
• You want clear pricing and a free plan you can try without a demo or a credit card.
• You issue PDF certificates and want them checked in seconds, by link or QR.

A 5-step evaluation checklist

1. Write down your real volume: certificates per month and your largest single batch.
2. List must-haves vs nice-to-haves. Be strict: would a verifiable PDF do the job?
3. Price a full year on each platform using its public pages, including any annual commitment.

Is Certinator a free Certifier alternative? Certinator's Spark plan is free, with 100 certificates a month as PDF or PNG downloads. Email delivery and verification start on Studio at $12 a month. Certifier also lists a free plan, so compare the limits against your volume.

Do I need an annual contract? No. Certinator plans are monthly or yearly, and you can change or cancel anytime from Manage billing. Prices are in USD plus applicable taxes, and checkout shows your total, including any tax, before you pay.

Can I issue certificates automatically from my own system? Yes, on Academy and Institute, through the Certinator API or MCP. Direct requests make up to 10 certificates, and background jobs make up to 100.

What happens to verify pages if I cancel? Certificates you've already issued stay checkable on a read-only verify page.
