How to set an expiry date or revoke a certificate
Some certificates need renewing, and some are issued by mistake. On Studio and up, you control both.
Before you start
A Studio, Academy or Institute plan and access to Verification Records.
Steps
- To expire a certificate, set an expiry date in the certificate setup before you issue. After that date, the verify page shows Expired. You can't change the expiry date after issuing, so set it before you issue.
- To revoke one, open Verification Records, find the certificate and click its Revoke credential icon. When asked "Revoke this credential permanently?", click Confirm revocation only if you're sure.
- If a detail was wrong, revoke the old certificate and issue a corrected one.
What to keep in mind
Revoking is permanent and can't be undone. Archiving only removes an entry from your active library. It doesn't revoke the public record.
